When life gives you lemons...

I'm at this point in my life where I feel like I have to reevaluate my relationship with my friends, or people who I thought were my friends. This article, although it's no means of living by it, totally represents how I feel about my thoughts on relationship with people.

There comes a point in every person’s life when he or she parts ways with someone: ex, friend and anyone in between.
Upon first meeting this person, there’s a sweet beginning, but once you come to really know each other and grow comfortable, you suddenly realize that the relationship no longer brings any particular value to your life and is perhaps, even detrimental.
Sometimes, we hold on to people purely based on how long we have known them. Time can tie people together, but if you feel as though there’s nothing substantial keeping you connected, time is not a strong enough reason to hold on to something that’s simply no longer worth holding onto.
We grow complacent with people once we’re comfortable with them. But, hanging onto someone for the pure sake of it and because you don’t know anything else isn’t a good enough reason.
Fear is another reason why we can’t move on. There’s the fear of being alone and not being able to find someone else; fear of someone using our deepest and darkest secrets as blackmail; fear of the hate and tension that will ensue; fear of regret once someone is gone.
Sometimes, things are better left as mere memories. You can try to change things back to how they were or try to create things to be the way you want them, but you’ll never be truly happy because it’ll never be anything like how things once were.
If anything, there’s now too much pressure and expectation in the air to recreate what you both once had. Instead, hold on to and cherish the memories, but move forward. Be thankful for what a friendship or relationship brought you and taught you.
Beyond that, friendships and relationships — whilst they do have their downfalls and can require fixing — should essentially come naturally.
If a person isn’t bringing something significant to your life, not treating you how you’d like or isn’t the type of person you want him or her to be, it’s a clear sign that you need distance.
While it would be selfish of you to not accept a person for whom he or she is, it would be unfair for you to have to endure a friendship or relationship that isn’t cultivating a better you.
Now that we have come to ascertain why you may be holding on, let’s make it clear why you need to let go:

1. Let go because things are not the same anymore.

People simply grow a part, which is perfectly normal. You realize you want different things, no longer share the same interests, no longer understand and no longer connect.
Sometimes, it’s a matter of accepting that it takes time to let go, rather than holding on to something that just can’t be brought back, was lost a long time ago or perhaps, was never really there at all.
It’s difficult to hold on to people in life, but remember that you’re destined to meet different people along your journey who will bring you happiness, sorrow, pain and joy.

2. Let go because the trust and loyalty isn’t there.

If you know in your heart that you can’t trust this person and he or she cannot be loyal, then you need to ask yourself why this person is in your life. Trust and loyalty are the foundation of any friendship and relationship.
If they’re not present, it may only lead to paranoia, frustration, tension and anger that you’re better off without feeling.
Find someone with whom you can share your deepest darkest secrets and you know that after walking away, his or her lips will remain tightly sealed. Find someone whose faithfulness to you will be unquestionable because his or her actions, rather than empty promises, bring you a peace of mind.

3. Let go because you are unclear of where things stand.

Engaging in an undefined friendship or relationship is confusing because you don’t know what you mean to the person, if anything at all. If the person can’t make you feel as though you’re significant, reflect on why you’re allowing someone to treat this way.
Be in the company of someone who is proud to have you in his or her life and will make that known to you and the rest of the world. Be in the company of someone who won’t gamble with your heart and mind simply because he or she knows you’re not going anywhere.

4. Let go if the friendship or relationship is damaging to you.

If the friendship/relationship is making you unhappy or miserable, it’s time to bid the person farewell. We must not allow ourselves to feel trapped and used to being treated far less well than we deserve.
If someone is putting you down, competing with you, not paying attention to you, not caring about you, abusing you, embarrassing you in front of others, making you question yourself, belittling you or simply just not caring about you, remove the negativity from your life as soon as possible. Respect yourself enough to be able to walk away.

5. Let go if you simply don’t see eye to eye.

It is hard to make a relationship work if you can’t ever agree or see each other’s points of view. If the one thing you can agree on is that neither of you can agree, it might be time to walk away.
In many friendships and relationships, people come together through unlikely chances, through their differences and lack of similarities. Therefore, it can work, but if you find that it’s a significant source of many of your disputes and tensions, get out now.

6. Let go if you’re the one fighting to make it work.

If your relationship makes you feel as though you’re the only one putting in effort, time and love, reflect on whether or not it’s worth it. If someone truly loves you, cares for you or wants and needs you, the person will never allow you to invest disproportionate effort.
Find someone who makes you feel worthwhile and worthy. Find someone who fights to have you in his or her life. Find someone who knows how lucky he or she is to have you.
Find someone who acknowledges everything you have done and will do. Don’t waste your time on anything less.

7. Let go if he or she doesn’t encourage you or believe in you.

If you find that your relationship isn’t providing you with support, reflect on what the person is providing. You deserve someone who will be there to encourage you throughout your journey and believe in you maybe even more than you believe in yourself.

8. Let go if the relationship isn’t bringing you what you want and need.

Ask yourself whether you can do without the relationship or whether it’s something you unquestionably want and deserve. Sometimes, there’s this belief that we can be “too fussy” with what we want from others in life, but then again, why should we settle for anything less than happiness?
Don’t ever allow someone to make you feel needy for wanting someone who will love, care and support you, someone who will listen and give you insightful advice, someone who wants the same things, someone you can trust and will be loyal to you, someone who believes so strongly in you and your capabilities. Just someone who makes you feel like you’re someone.

CVS Haul! {021114}

It's been a while since I've posted on this blog. No worries, I haven't forgotten about this blog, I just started school not that long ago & got sick. LOL SO... My plate was full. None the less, I'm back (for now) and with pictures/ reviews too!!

I didn't plan to go to CVS today, but it was right next to the Trader Joe's where I was planning to buy some groceries from, so I popped in to see what's new. I usually don't expect to buy anything at CVS since everything(in my opinion) is overpriced simply because it's located in San Francisco. ANYHOW, there were a crap load of the yellow stickers that had all the deals. I usually just walk pass them since most of the fine print is something like BUY $12 and get $3 off your purchase. Nope. I'm too cheap to fall for that trick! Especially like I said before, errthang be overpriced in San Francisco! BUT THEN I SAW IT. Buy 1 get one 50% off on top of the new Milani lippie that I was eyeballing. I got excited & ended up grabbing 3 of the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacques.

Here are some swatches of them:

Here's my little review/ thoughts on these lippies:
Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer: Smooth, pigmented, it's like liquid lipstick. It's extremely comfortable on your lips & stains your lips when it wears off. It's not sticky, it starts out glossy looking and as you wear it, it looks more matte. I absolutely adore these lippes! I own of them now!

Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stain:
My first impression was DAM this thing is tiny! Second was "WTH, it takes forever for the product to come out! Is it empty" It took a while for the products to come out. I had to click well more than 50x to get something out. The color I got is a dusty mauve rose color. It's like a "my lips but better color" I absolutely LOVEE the color! However, the product didn't apply as smoothly on my lips like the Rimmel ones & it's a bit more tacky too (which I don't really mind) It's not as comfortable on the lips compared to the Rimmel one, however I do love the color, so it makes up for that. The one problem I had was the price. I got it for $6.79. I KNOW not breaking the bank or anything, but it only contains 0.09 fl oz/ 2.5 g of product! The Rimmel one has 0.18 fl oz/ 5.5ml for $6.29. You definitely get more bang for your bucks with the Rimmel one! BUT it all worked out since I had a $4 off $20 spent on cosmetics so each lippie were less than $5 a piece including tax.

Overall, I loveeee my purchase! I hope you guys found this swatch/ mini review useful!

BTW; CVS carries NYX products now?!? OMG!!

[081313] EMPTIES #2 (#7 on my Instagram)

Empties from the month of August!
1. Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45

I LOVEEE THIS SUNBLOCK!! I got 2 bottles at Costco for around $10-$11 this summer. I really did enjoy using it! It was super easy to use and doesn't make me feel greasy. Although I went through this bottle rather quickly, it was the FIRST time I finished using up a bottle of sunblock within a year. I'd rather pay the same amount of money for a spray sunblock than the lotion one since I know I'll USE IT, finish it and not waste the product. Usually when I buy sunblock in the lotion form (face or body) it takes me forever to use it up. I like how with the spray form of sunblock, I can apply the sunblock on before I go out in the sun and also reapply because it's so easy and hassle free! This is the ultimate HOLY GRAIL item of this summer! <3

2. St. Ives Apricot Scub
Yayaya! I know what you're thinking. "Oh no! That stuff is bad for your skin!" Well... Maybe for your face.... But I use this for my back acne. Since the skin on my back is thicker, I feel like this really does the trick to scrub all the dead skin off =] I have many backups of this and I usually get them on sale at Target or even at FoodsCo!

3. Cleanser

Do I have to say anything more? I've been using this since 2011 and it helps keep my skin clear from pimples! It's super gentle, foams up like a dream and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I've gone through SOO many bottles of these, but it's so affordable and it works! Another HOLY GRAIL item! =]

4. Neutrogena T/Sal Therapeutic Shampoo (Scalp Build-Up Control)

I suffer from psoriasis so have to use this kind of shampoo when I wash my hair. It's one of the few things that helps me from scratchy the crap outta my scalp when I'm sleeping at night. It's a staple in my shower and I usually have a backup of this at all time.

5. Summer Eves Cleansing Wash

Well, I buy this occasionally. It contains no soap and it's used to wash down south. I'm MEH about this product. I have bought this a couple of times, only when it was on sale or when I remembered to buy it.

6. Skindinavia Bridal Makeup Spray
My first bottle and it took me AGES to finish! It's a must have in ANYONE's beauty routine! It helps your makeup set and keeps it lasting all day! <3 Ya heard all the raves, so go get you some!

7. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer (in Light?)
OMG. I lovee this concealer for my under eye! It's so creamy and it does the job oh so effortlessly. I took off the sponge part when I first got it because the thought of using it over and over again is freaking gross! It took me over a year to use this product up. Although it comes in a small package, a little goes a long way. Also a tip, after you're done using it, you can twist the cap the opposite side and pop the entire lid off. There's still plenty of products to use and it could even last you up to a week!

8. Trader Joe's JoJoba Oil

This thing took me forever to use too! I got this when I started using my regime. I use to add it to my moisturizer for more additional moisture. However, this month I used it as a body moisturizer since I ran out of body lotion. It's a great moisturizer, but just a bit messy and it takes a bit of time for the oil to absorb into your skin (So you'd have to wait a tiny bit before you wear your clothes after you shower).

9. Wen Re Moist Intensive Hair Treatment
Dare I say... This isn't that special. Oh. I did say it. There it's out there. The whole Wen hair treatment is kinda a gimmick to me... I bought this Hair Treatment in a kit with the Wen Cleansing Conditioner. I didn't see much of a difference using either products. Kinda disappointed with the amount of moolay I spent on it. I shoulda just gotten the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque for the same price =(

10. CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM

I got a small sample of this from my boyfriend's family's place. I needed a night moisturizer that night and this did the trick. It's light, fragrance free, fast absorbing and pretty moisturizing. I like it. I MIGHT buy the full bottle one.... Once I finish using up my other moisturizers. lol. I would however, buy this if I was out of town and didn't have any moisturizer.

11. Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection Toothpaste - Soothing Smooth Mint

I got this sample at my last dentist appointment. I thought I'd add this in to write a little speal about what I thought about this product. It's iitte. It's not MIND BLOWING I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. It tastes pretty good and I enjoyed it. It doesn't work as amazing as my Sensodyne toothpaste =]

12. SOAP & GLORY Hand Food™ Hand Cream

OK. I didn't really like this. I don't like the smell. I don't think it moisturized that well and I don't like the price. I WILL NOT be buying this anytime in the future. Probably never. And if I get this as a gift one day.... I'd gladly regift it to someone else. (LOL) I prefer my Neutrogena Hand Cream over this (piece of $h!t) any day! =P

WELL, that's my two cents about the products I used up in the month of August. I really do sharing my Empties with others. I feel like I really KNOW how a product preforms and can give legit insight & suggestions on wither or not you should toss your money on a product =]

Till next time!

[072413] EMPTIES #1 (#6 on my Instagram)

1. Gariner Nutrisse Ultra Color Hair Dye for dark hair in R1: My go to red hair dye. I’ve used like 3 boxes of these this past year. Love itt!

2. SkinMD Natural Shelding Lotion: I like it a lot. It’s fast drying and moisturizing. It’s a good face & body lotion, but it’s not moisturizing for my hands when I have a little bit of enzyme. The only down fall is that I could only buy it online. It’s extremely hard to find it in stores :[

3. Head Shoulders: My go to scalp shampoo. Been using it for years. Used up hella bottles of it this year!

4. Revlon Color Silk Luminista Hair Dye for dark hair in 150 Red: I don’t really like it. It comes off more burgundy thank red -__- I’ll stick with my Gariner one.

5. Simple Facial Wipes It’s been in almost every empties (on my Instagram). That says something….

6. St Ives Skin Renewing Body Lotion Collagen Elastin: It’s ok. Smells ok. I just ran out of body lotion and desperately needed some. I won’t purchase it however, it’s not AMAZING.

7. Suave Natural  Mango Mandarin Body Lotion: Once again. I desperately needed it. It smells good, but I won’t go out of my way to pay for it. It is however, comparable to the Bath & Body Works lotion. But a fraction of the price.

8. Essence of Beauty (from CVS) Brush Cleaner: I’ve had this sucker for YEARS!! I mean probably since 2009!! It takes forever to use up (Which isn’t a bad thing) It works and it’s affordable. I’d probably buy another one in the future.

9. Plus White 5 Minute Speed Whitening Gel: I’ve used this since I was a kid. It’s affordable and it works ok. I don’t really like the taste, but it does whitening your teeth a bit. I only stopped using it because I lost the teeth tray that came with them =/

Past Crafting Project - DIY Blanket!

I'm so excited to post up some of my past & present projects on this blog!! I was actually working on a project today. BUTT! I can't post up any photos or any clues about it until I give the gifts away! ;]

SOOO before I post that blog up, I'll post up some past (and still recent-ish) projects that I've done this year. This is made a blanket that I made for my (sorority) Lil Sis Tien in March 2012.

I just looked up DIY blanket online and made the entire blanket in one night. It's actually a really easy project. The only tedious thing was cutting out all the letters out (it was my first time doing it in a long time with felt!), cutting the sides & put knots around the entire blanket.

I already had some felt that I bought from Diaso (Japanese dollar-ish store). I was planning to use the felt to cut out a lot of letters. I went to Joann's and bought some SOFT ASS fabric to make a blanket with. I bought two 3 yards of fabric. Freakin' $19.99/ yard! YIKES! Little did I know how darn expensive it was. -.- My cousin called me crazy for not going to Walmart to get my fabric D; I DIDN'T KNOW. I was a NEWB =( And MIND YOU, none of the coupons I had worked for the fabric specifically =/

I cut the extra fabric on the side (it usually states something like "JOANN'S FABRIC" on the side of the fabric). I aligned the fabrics and cut 2" by 2" (or however long your strips will be) square on the corners. Then I cut 2" inches long strips by 1" in width around the entire blanket. Then I just double knot the entire thing taking the green & blue strips and knotting it together. Lastly, I finish cutting the letters that I was missing, aligned the letters and glued them on the now completed blanket!

*Side note/ advice: DO NOT USE "FELT GLUE" I say use a hot glue gun to glue the letters on and maybe even go an extra step and sew the letters on -.- I was in a hurry so I didn't do that. I had my lil sis wash the blanket since (I'm OCD with being clean) and the blanket was on the floor. After she washed and dried the blankey, ALL THE LETTERS FELL OFF T___T So we had to hot glue them back on -.- #FAILED.

It took many many LONGGG hours and I stayed up supper late finishing it, BUT! It was worth it! ^___^

PHOTOS: (BTW, this was my first time posting up photos. It's SOO difficult! D; I'm still learning how to use this site! It's not like my comfy Xanga X__X  && Photos taken with my cell phone!!)

Cutting out the letters.
Cutting off the excess fabric on the side. I put the letters
on the blanket to see if it fit.
Aligned the two fabric.
Cut a 2" by 2" on the corners of the blanket. (Or however long your
strips are) Cut 2" long and 1" wide strips all around
the entire blanket.
Finish aligning the letters.
&& Taking a break. LOL.
Blue side it is! =D
Yeah!!! =] (I'm on the right. My precious lil on the left <3)

P.S. HI LIL!!! Behind the scene shit for you =D

Blog Post #1

"When you don't create things, you become defined by your tastes rather than ability. Your tastes only narrow and exclude people. So Create."

WELLL HELLO THERE! This is my first blog post using Blogger ! Yeah!! I haven't blogged in AGES! I use to blog EVERYDAY ever since Middle School. I just kinda fell off the wagon once I went to college. D;
(I'm still a die hard Xanga user for those who know me =P).

ANYWHOOO. Since it's my summer break, I really wanted to jump back into blogging. I plan to post some of my recent (and some past) arts/ craft projects, Makeup review/ swatches? eh? and more! We'll see. Nonetheless I am extremely excited!

Thanks for stopping by! ^__^

P.S. Hi Lil Sis Tien if you're reading this =D
